Oh my the days are flying by….hard to believe we are nearing the end of the first month in a brand new year. The stores show evidence of this by stalking shelves with big, bright, red stuffed bears, candy hearts, eggs filled with confetti, and baskets stuffed with goodies all nicely saran-wrapped….Valentine’s Day and Easter ALREADY!!! I’m still trying to recover from Christmas….geeze! Lately all I want to do is sleep and sleep and sleep….ha I wish I could do that! Perhaps I allow that thought to entertain my brain a little too much! I guess all the rain these days doesn’t help either. Rain and cold days equals covers and coffee plus a side order of some of my night shows. Peace Out!

These past two months have really had some refining moments in both the lives of my husband and I. Back when I had posted my New Years Resolutions, little did I know that so much would be occurring this year, not to mention we are only half way through 2009. Although times can be tough, I believe God is teaching me the same lesson that he always does, yet every time there seems to be a twist that opens my eyes just a little bit wider. Even though I know that God is in control & that I must continue to have faith, its that patience that is tried just a little bit more and more each time. I know that God is making me stronger & putting me through the fire for a reason to ultimately rely totally on Him and give Him the glory in the end. I’ll admit, my character has been questionable at times. I know whole-heartily that God’s got this, but I have struggled with asking that pain-staking question of “WHY?” That’s taboo right? Sometimes I’m brought to my wits end and just want to throw in the towel & be miserable with my selfish feelings! I’ve been through so much that I think I would have a right to sometimes. Would it be easier? I think not! God’s timing is always perfect. As this draws out & my patience continues to grow smaller, God puts that very song, that soul-seeking song, that song that brings me to tears, that song that creates a lump in my throat, that song that brings back those reminiscent youthful, fervent years when I first met the Lord. At this moment I cannot help but to lift my hands while I am driving. That my friends is called hope, that is what it is to be in the Lord. Now I am no one to have it all together, can’t you just tell, but one thing I do know is that God has something planned and He’s working on something that is way out of my control. Something that I would not be able to achieve on my own strength. I am waiting, but I will keep busy to prevent little me from going hay-wire with all the hustle and stress of an average day in the life of me.

Signing out,

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, hence I’d like to take the time and tribute this post to my amazing, wonderful husband, Isaac Castillo. He is everything and more that I could have asked and prayed for. Isaac you are my true love and you make my heart melt every time I take the time to think about us. You make a wonderful father and that means so much to me. I see how our boys look up to you and I know that they want to grow up and be just like their Daddy. You definitely light up a room with your humorous presence, that’s what stole my heart, and lets not forget all that Latin charm..haha We’ve endured some hard times, but the love that we share for each other has only made us stronger as best friends, wife/husband and parents. It will only get better, I know it. Although I don’t say it as often as I’d like to or should, honey know that you are respected, looked up to, admired and so so so appreciated. I love you, Happy Valentine’s Day.

Man o Man….I am loving this temperature change! Today it was in the low 70’s…..YES!!! This is my absolute favorite time of the year. Time to gear up for Fall clothes.

Yesterday I had to stop by the office and drop off some paperwork. As I stepped outside of my car, I felt the cool air brush through my hair, while the warm sun beamed down on my face. A familiar feeling evolved way down deep within my soul, touched my heart and created a sweet smile on my face. A feeling that cannot be described in one sentence. I believe that was the Holy Spirit. No matter where I go, where I am or what I do, You are there…always watching always protecting. This is not about religion, its about relationship. It has been an eye-opening experience. I will not accept Jesus second-hand, I want to know Him personally. If you are offended, you have not reached that understanding. I don’t want to hear religion at its best, whatever that is! I don’t want to be a part of the culture, the viscious cycle. I know Christ and thats all I care to know. Arrogance….NO…confidence in Christ is what it is all about. Now I do have mentors who are near and dear to my heart that I will always go to when I seek advice, however these are genuine people who have been there, done that and have gotten the T-shirt. I can’t stand when someone can speak advice when they have never even experienced life themselves. Life is when you can overcome the curveballs it throws at you, of course with God’s help. I’m not talking about overcoming a broken nail or throwing a fit because the color of the walls doesn’t match the rest of the decor or being so obsessed with your loss of hair that you try a different hairstyle that screams “old-fogie trying to be young again.” Come on people!!! Get a grip, wake up and hear a druggie/drunk going cold turkey….hear a young girl pleading her case at the Medicaid office to approve her child, “she’s starving, she hasn’t eaten all day”…..or why not volunteer at the Women’s shelter and see the faces of battered women and hear the fear in their voices…or how about talking someone out of suicide…or being the voice of a sexually abused child in court. Step out of your circle of safety sometimes (not always) and see if you can really hang with what “other” people are dealt with in life. You’d be amazed at how you would come back and define the word content. Your appreciation for what you have would far exceed your previous beliefs or expectations. People are so caught up in the rat-race or as I like to say, keeping up with the Jones’, MAN just love your life, love yourself and love others. The favor will come back ten-fold.

Peace out,
